Deputy Speaker and SAGIP Party-List Rep. Rodante Marcoleta on Monday night questioned the National Telecommunications Commission why it has been allowing the continued operation of ABS-CBN’s cable channels despite the broadcast network’s expired franchise.“I’ve observed that ABS-CBN has been the subject of a cease-and-desist order very recently coming from the NTC.
“We are all aware of the fact that the franchise of SkyCable Corporation which is now owned by ABS-CBN…the franchise has expired as of March 30, 2020. I’d like to know on what authority Sky Cable is still airing their programs,” he asked NTC Chairman Gamaliel Cordoba, who joined the proceedings via Zoom.
In his response, Cordoba pointed to Executive Order No. 205, series of 1987, that was issued by the later former president, Corazon Aquino. At that time, what would become Sky Cable was still known as Central Cable TV .

Cable wires are just the conduits for 'airing' programs over TV monitors; cable boxes, set-up boxes among others are the transponders' storage for 'airing' what you see on your TV monitor screens. Hence, 'On-Air' is logically being used to ascribe what u see over TV sets!☮👊🎙
