The Manila city government will release the second dose vaccines from its own storage facility to be used as first dose starting on Monday after two cases of the more transmissible COVID-19 Delta variant were detected in the city.

The DOH reported earlier that two Delta variant cases were detected in Manila. One of the cases was tagged as “dead after being rushed to the emergency room of hospital last June 28.” The other case was tagged as recovered. The Delta variant was first detected in India and it spread more easily and quickly than other variants.
