Some 212 healthcare workers in Mandaluyong City will undergo a two-day online training program in preparation for the city’s vaccination program against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

City Health Officer Dr. Alex Sta. Maria said the first batch of participants, composed of doctors, nurses, and midwives, will be trained starting January 21 via video conferencing app Zoom.

Sta. Maria said they will be trained by other healthcare workers from Mandaluyong City Health Office and representatives from public and private hospitals in the city who recently completed an online orientation facilitated by the Department of Health regarding the vaccination program of the local government.

“The directive of Mayor Menchie is for us to be prepared and to make this a worry-free vaccination program with the help of qualified and capable health workers of the city,” he said in a statement Monday. The possible side effects of the coronavirus vaccine to a person and how to deal with it will also be discussed in the training.
