The Mandaluyong City government has prohibited the holding of wakes during the period of the enhanced community quarantine .

If the deceased was identified as positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 , the body should be cremated within 24 hours, the order read. Abalos noted that the burial of the deceased should be done in accordance to the religion or custom of the dead. They may also face charges for resistance and disobedience to a person in authority if they will not cooperate.
