The Makati Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) padlocked three establishments in the city on Saturday after the local government unit (LGU) found out that they were operating without business permits.

The Makati Business Permits and Licensing Office padlocked three establishments in the city on Saturday after the local government unit found out that they were operating without business permits.

In a Facebook post, the BPLO said it shut down the Alamat Filipino Pub, Restaurante de Poblacion Inc., and Restaurante Felipe. “The continuing crackdown has been ordered by Mayora Abby to restore order and discipline in Makati and protect the interest of legitimate businesses, Makatizens, and the general public,” the LGU said.

The BPLO also closed a number of establishments, mostly restaurants, in previous weeks after finding out that they were violating COVID-19 quarantine policies. Restaurants and other establishments were allowed to open after the national government placed Metro Manila under General Community Quarantine Alert Level 4 last Sept. 16 as it aims to give the economy a much needed boost after being adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
