Ferdie Gaite and Eufemia Cullamat echoed Elago's sentiment, recalling how the administration quickly decided to abrogate the country's Visiting Forces Agreement with the United States over the cancellation of Sen. Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa’s US visa.
“Ang kailangan pa rin, tumindig tayo sa principled position. Hindi 'yong pettiness na pinapakita ngayon ng pamahalaan na, bilang pagganti ay ibabasura ang VFA because of that cancellation ng visa ni Sen. Dela Rosa,” Gaite said. “Sana nga matutong tumindig ang Pilipinas dahil nakikita natin ang ang Pilipinas ay may kakayahang tumindig sa kaniyang sariling paa,” Cullamat said.
