It’s the Makabayan Bloc’s Christmas wish for the Philippine government to resume peace talks with the National Democratic Front of the Philippines .Bayan Muna Party-List Rep. Carlos Zarate said that going back to the negotiating table with communist rebels is ultimately beneficial to the entire nation.
“Sana ang resumption ng usapang pangkayapaang ito would be conducted without precondition for both parties, especially from the government. Ang gobyerno naman ang nagkansela nito noong nakaraang taon ,” Zarate said. The militant Makabayan faction recently led the filing of House Resolution No.636, which [expresses] “the sense of the House of Representatives to support the resumption of the peace talks between the Government of the Republic of the Philippines and the National Democratic Front of the Philippines based on precious agreements between the two parties.”
