A magnitude 6.2 earthquake rattled Batanes early Saturday morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology orThe epicenter of the quake that struck at 12:44 a.m.

was 16 kilometers northeast of the provincial capital Basco, Phivolcs reported.The quake was felt at Intensity IV in Basco, and Itbayat. Intensity II was recorded in Laoag City and Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte, and Intensity I in Vigan City.
