While shaking was felt across Luzon, Phivolcs chief Renato Solidum told CNN Philippines it was 'not a damaging earthquake,' based on initial reports and the intensities recorded.

The earthquake struck waters 39 kilometers northeast of Burdeos town in Quezon province at 4:28 p.m., the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.

A"moderately strong" intensity 4 was experienced in Jose Panganiban, Camarines Norte; Quezon City; Marikina City; Sta. Cruz in Laguna' and Alanat and Gen. Nakar in Quezon. Intensity 2 was reported in Dingalan, Aurora; Mandaluyong City; Apalit, Pampanga; Taguig City; Lucban, Quezon, while San Isidro, Nueva Ecija; Gapan City; Meycauayan, Bulacan recorded an intensity 1 tremor.
