The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board on Friday said it would be requiring franchise applicants to plant trees first, part of the agency's apparent response to the massive flooding

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board on Friday said it would be requiring franchise applicants to plant trees first, part of the agency's apparent response to the massive flooding that has hit the country.Based on Memorandum Circular 2020-076 released by the board Friday, tree planting will be mandatory during franchise application.

"Operators shall coordinate with the concerned local government unit or the concerned DENR office on the area allowed for tree-planting activity, and shall secure proof of compliance therewith from the LGU or DENR." The LTFRB said applicants of new Certificate of Public Convenience , which has at least 10 units, would be required to plant at least one tree for each unit they apply for.“After the first three months, all applicants with less than 10 units are included,” said the agency.

Trabaho ng denr yan... Ano may denr pa tayo

Akala ko pa naman abs cbn franchise. Kahit puno na mismo itatanim ko, gagawin ko. Magka franchise lang.

ANCALERTS A little too late ...

It will just turn into another fart. What happened to illegal parking on side streets and parking requirement for vehicle registrants? How come a lot of vehicles are still parked on public roads?

To stop a flood: plant trees and mangroves.

patawa 😂 bakit d nyo sabihin yan s kapatid nyong agency n nag bbigay p ng lisensiya pra mka pag-putol, kasama n ang mga alam nilang ilegal loggers 🙄 tapos pag tatanimin nyo ang iba. LECHE n wla s PLAN 😆

Plant trees? Saan? Sabihin mo sa DENR dami nilang in approve na loggers

It would be amazing if all government officials will be required as well to plant trees first before running again for election, win or loose!

Gusto ko din makita na bawat official at empleyado ng LTFRB ay magtanim ng puno. Ano itsura ng opisina/building nyo? Alangan naman hypocrites kayo di ba?

Planting is one thing. Ensuring that these trees live, grow and mature and help prevent floods is the more difficult thing. Franchisees should adopt a forest - that they need to maintain for the duration of the franchise. The bigger the business, the bigger the adopted forest!

Wala rin kwenta kung puputulin lang ng DDS.

Is the LTFRB implying that these transport franchise applicants cut down trees in the past? Why doesnt the government use this to those illegal loggers as penalty instead?

ang daming requirements talaga pinahihirapan nyo mga drivers ng PUV
