Weather specialist Loriedin dela Cruz of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration said the LPA was last spotted 135 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes as of 3 a.m. Friday and will affect parts of the country.
Thunderstorms will prevail in these areas due to the weather disturbance within the next 24 to 36 hours. Dela Cruz said that the LPA has a slim chance of developing into a tropical cyclone. The tropical depression is moving northwest at 15 kph and is not expected to enter PAR as it is moving away from the country. It will not also affect the weather in the Philippines, PAGASA said.
