Quezon 4th District Rep. Angelina Tan on Tuesday received a dose of the Covid-19 vaccine from Chinese drugmaker Sinovac BioTech, making her the first lawmaker to get immunized against the deadly respiratory disease. | DYGalvezINQ

Tan, who heads the House of Representatives’ committee on health and is also a doctor, was administered the shot at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center.

This is part of her eldest son’s allocation for the family as a surgeon at the hospital, she explained.“Huwag tayong matakot magpabakuna, protektahan natin ang isa’t-isa upang sabay-sabay nating malagpasan ang pandemya [Let’s not be scared of getting the vaccine, let’s protect one another so we can overcome this pandemic],” Tan said in a statement.
