Photos released by the Speaker’s office on Monday morning, Jan. 16 showed the President’s plane being escorted by Philippine Air Force (PAF) fighter jets. READ:

House Speaker Martin Romualdez is currently en route to Davos, Switzerland along with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

Romualdez is part of Marcos’s official delegation to the World Economic Forum , which features both the business elite and key heads of state. Photos released by the Speaker’s office on Monday morning, Jan. 16 showed the President’s plane being escorted by Philippine Air Force fighter jets. “This is part of essential standard operating procedure to ensure the safety and security of presidential flights,” the Speaker’s office said.

Romualdez, Leyte’s 1st district congressman, is arguably the top ally of Marcos in the Philippine legislature. As such, he has been an important fixture in the Filipino leader’s trips abroad.
