Calabarzon local government units are encouraged to restrict non-essential travel to Batangas, the Department of the Interior and Local Government in the region said on Saturday, July 3.
DILG Calabarzon Director Ariel Iglesia issued a memorandum to all DILG provincial and highly urbanized city directors, citing the recommendation of the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council . "You are hereby directed to encourage LGUs, with the assistance of the PNP within your areas of responsibility to not allow non-essential travel to Batangas province, especially in high-risk areas. This shall remain to be recommended until such time the RDRMC lifts said limitation," Iglesia said.
Iglesia also reminded LGUs that donations from outside Batangas should be coordinated, and should not be delivered straight to evacuation centers"to prevent mass gatherings and other violations of the minimum public health standards."The Department of Agriculture identified evacuation sites for livestock in Batangas as the Taal Volcano unrest continues.
