'Literacy Pantry' na itinayo sa Ilocos Norte, alok ang libreng libro, school supplies

MAYNILA — Kakaiba ang alok ng isang community pantry na tinayo sa Barangay Pasil, Paoay, Ilocos Norte nitong Linggo.

Tinawag itong ' Literacy Pantry' na ideya at inorganisa ng English Language Society at mga estudyante ng Master of Arts in English Language and Literature ng Mariano Marcos State University sa nasabing lalawigan.Bilang isang literacy pantry, alok nito ay iba't ibang klase ng libro tungkol sa iba't ibang asignatura tulad ng Science, Math, English, Reading, at Social Sciences.

Mayroon ding mga novels, pocketbooks at maging spiritual books, pati na rin mga dictionary, workbooks, at flashcards. Bukod sa mga libro, alok din nito ang mga school supplies tulad ng mga notebook, lapis, papel, ballpen, at marami pang iba. Layunin ng mga organizer na matulungan ang mga estudyante sa kanilang mga pangangailangan at mahasa pa ang kanilang kaalaman, lalo na ngayong may pandemya dulot ng COVID-19.Nagsulputan ang mga community pantry sa kabila ng red-tagging dahil sa layunin nitong makapagbigay ng makakain at iba pang pangangailangan sa araw-araw.
