A congressman from Metro Manila has proposed another 30-day extension of the enhanced community quarantine, noting that"science" and"common sense" would prove that the Philippines is still grappling with the COVID-19 crisis.
Erice, a senior vice chair of the House committee on Metro Manila Development, noted that the"gains" of the ongoing 30-day Luzon-wide quarantine will only be put to waste if there will be no extension.
Paano nalang yung mga taong gusto makasama and hindi makauwi sa kani knilang bahay due to the lockdown. Gusto nila makasama at syempre mas alagaan pa ang pamilya nila, i guess sana kahit paonti onti ilift yung ECQ

If they suggest extension, then they should plan ahead to avoid poor implementation. They should ensure that supply is not stopped, no shortages and provide for those who are truly in need during this lockdown.

I wonder if Rep. Erice, in his proposal, would also like to lobby for a more efficient distribution of the government aid promised so that people can stay home as needed. 3 weeks into the ECQ, many have yet to receive financial aid as promised.

We need data to see the extent of the virus spread, we may not have it now. Knowing how the virus behaves gives us the tool to decide where to apply the correct action/s. If the country can properly sustain the daily lives of all its citizens during quarantine, we need not worry.

The way i see it, mas madaming cases and deaths ngayon kesa nun nagstart ang mga quarantine nun March 15. Kung illift ang quarantines IN THE MIDDLE of peaking ng infection, madami mamatay. Yet, pano nga ang indigent at gutom. This needs a lot of thinking less attacking.
It is bad for the senior citizen, being left alone in their cluster rooms, most of the time in bed is killing them by developing pneumonia, their home do not have the facility to exercise and they are not allow to venture out. Same that letting them die in isolation.

Enhanced community quarantine is useless if the government will not do any mass testing and contract tracing.
It is the right thing to do given the rise... however, measure must be put in place to ensure that the daily needs of all people affected must be addressed. Stringent distribution protocol must be set to check if the people gets what should be theirs.
the numbers are still going up...how delayed are the tests? give those found infected 2 weeks to heal from the time they were swabbed...another 2 weeks quarantine for safety...that's a month already...stop the spread...that is our only recourse now!

FYI: People will probably starve. The govt doesnt provide enough resources for them. Not everyone has SAVINGS. Most filipinos are poor. e.g. this is what they gave us in north caloocan (Day15 of quarantine) to a household with 3 adults and 2 minors.

Nakaka takot if prematurely ilift ang ECQ. I don't think our health system can withstand so much cases kung sakaling lalong kumalat dahil di naman completely nacontrol ang virus in the first place. We can't let our health system break now. We can't afford to risk it.
Yes hindi talaga enough yung until April 14 na ECQ, kasi madami pa din sa kababayan natin na ngayon pa lang nagkakaroon ng symptoms, tapos yung iba asymptomatic pa. Yung iba malamang ngayon pa lang nahawaan ng virus so may 14 days incubation pa. 🙁
With mass testing, intensive contract tracing and localized lockdowns, Luzon lockdown in not needeed anymore.
