Senator Lito Lapid has filed a bill seeking imprisonment of up to six months and a fine not exceeding P100,000 for customers who will make unjustified cancellation of orders in food and grocery delivery service platforms. | CGonzalesINQ

Lapid pointed out that the bill will require delivery service providers to establish a reimbursement scheme for the delivery drivers in case orders are cancelled. To facilitate collection against customers who cancel orders, the bill also requires delivery service providers to implement know-your-customer rules which include the submission and verification of proof of identity and residential address subject to compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012.

cgonzalesINQ It will be hard to trace the person who made an order. If all the cell phone numbers are registered then there's a way to trace the call and the person. Easiest way is pay as you order transactions.

cgonzalesINQ This matter can be handled internally by Grab. Do you really reed a bill for this? There are more pressing concerns for Filipinos! Transportation, jobs, utilities, medical assistance, education etc. over canceled food deliveries!

How would LGUs respond and react to imminent outbreaks when the link between current and new positive cases is getting thinner? Let the GCQ stay.
