TROPICAL Depression “Lannie” has made at least four landfalls Monday, October 4, and was already over the Olango Channel, headed toward central Cebu as of 2 p.m., said the state weather bureau.* Padre Burgos, Southern Leyte – 8 a.m.As of 1 p.m., the eye of the tropical depression was located over the coastal waters of Jetafe, Bohol, packing maximum winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center, gusts of up to 55 km/h, and central pressure of 1004 hPa. It was moving westward at 20 km/h.
Based on the forecast track, the tropical depression will move generally westward or west northwestward over the Visayas archipelago until Monday night before emerging over the Sulu Sea and cross the Cuyo archipelago. “Throughout this entire period, Lannie is forecast to remain within tropical depression category, with a possibility of slight intensification once over the Sulu Sea or West Philippine Sea,” it added.The southern portion of Masbate , the southern portion of Romblon , the southern portion of Oriental Mindoro , the southern portion of Occidental Mindoro , and the northern portion of Palawan including Calamian and Cuyo Islands.
Strong winds with occasional gusts will also be experienced within any of the areas under TCWS 1 during the passage of the tropical depression.
