The Lakers got the job done by defeating the gritty Denver Nuggets in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals, 117-107, Saturday at the Walt Disney World Complex in Orlando .
Anthony Davis had 27 points, five rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block. The All-NBA big man, who was acquired in a blockbuster offseason trade from New Orleans, will be making his first Finals appearance. But Davis drilled a three-pointer in the Lakers' final possession of the period to swing the lead back to his team. James then took over in the fourth quarter, making several huge buckets including the dagger three-pointer with under two minutes to go.
They could not do it for the third series in a row, however, as James and the Lakers closed them out in five games.
