NBA prospect and Gilas Pilipinas player Kai Sotto had thanked the Jr. NBA program in Japan.

'Who would've thought that young 12 year old me, who was just enjoying basketball, meeting new friends, and being inspired by the jr. NBA special guests/athletes, who would've thought that I would be the role model for these kids 9 years later,' Sotto wrote on Instagram on Monday.'This is where I started, and I couldn't believe how fast time flies,' he added.

'Truly blessed to see the smiles on these young kids' faces. Humble beginnings and a pure heart was all I had, and now I get blessings I never thought I would receive.'Previously dubbed as the 'future of Philippine basketball', Sotto is playing for the Hiroshima Dragonflies of the Japanese B. League, after playing for Gilas Pilipinas at the recent FIBA World Cup.
