Singer Victor Wood, also known as the 'Jukebox King of the Philippines' in the 1970s, died on Friday, April 23, as confirmed by his family members.

Singer Victor Wood, also known as the"Jukebox King of the Philippines" in the 1970s, died on Friday, April 23, as confirmed by his family members.. We love you so much. We will never forget you," Victor's older sister Maria Testado wrote on Facebook, sharing photos of them together.

"Your memories will remain in our hearts and our minds forever. May your soul rest in peace with the Lord in heaven," she added.Victor's wife Nerissa said he died at 9 am due to COVID-19 complications at the New Era General Hospital, Quezon City. She also said funeral arrangements will be taken care of by Iglesia ni Kristo, of which he is a member.

Victor Wood, who hailed from Camarines Sur, rose to fame in the early 1970s with ballads such as"Mr. Lonely,""I'm Sorry My Love,""In Despair,""Fraulein,""Eternally," and many others, releasing 26 albums during his music career. His first albumTowards his later years, Victor also landed a few acting roles in Sampaguita Pictures films and even attempted a spot in Philippine politics in the 2000s. He also delved into painting.
