BGen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. on Friday announced the arrest and the filing of criminal charges against 173 employees of the illegal numbers game jueteng in various towns and cities in Pangasinan.

Azurin named Efren Ricafort-Fajardo, incumbent punong barangay of Sagud Bahley in San Fabian town as the jueteng operator and provincial coordinator of the Peryhan ng Bayan. Aside from the criminal offense, Fajardo will be facing an administrative case for grave misconduct and other offenses, according to police investigators.The suspects failed to present any permit issued by the Philippine Charity Sweepstake Office authorizing them to operate jueteng in Pangasinan.“Our police will continuously conduct relentless operations like this to prevent the proliferation of illegal gambling activities,” he added.
