MANILA, Philippines—Filipino boxers Jhunriel Ramonal and Rey Loreto had different fates at the end of the decade when they fought for regional titles in Tokyo on Tuesday.

Jhunriel Ramonal took just one round to dispatch of his Japanese opponent Yusaku Kuga to take the vacant WBO Asia Pacific super bantamweight title at Ota City General Gymnasium in Tokyo.Kuga , meanwhile, saw his three-fight winning streak get snapped. Rey Loreto, though, didn’t have the same fate after he fell in five rounds against Ginjiro Shigeoka in their bout for the WBO Asia Pacific minimumweight championship.

7 bodies found on suspected NKorean boat in Japan – The Manila TimesTOKYO: The badly decomposed remains of seven people have been found in a suspected North Korean fishing boat that washed up on a Japanese island, a coast guard official said on Sunday. The remains were found on Saturday in a broken vessel on the shore of Sado Island, 900 kilometers from North Korea across the Sea of Japan. The officials said that five of the bodies were identified as men but the remaining two could not be identified as they were badly damaged. He also said that Korean alphabet and numbers were painted on the wooden hull of the broken boat. Local media said the Japanese police and coast guard are investigating the case. Japanese media reporter that at least 156 suspected North Korean fishing vessels washed up on Japan’s coast or were found drifting in Japanese waters this year. Experts say some North Korean fishermen are travelling far out to sea in order to satisfy government mandates for bigger catches. But their old and poorly equipped vessels are prone to mechanical and other problems. Some of the boats wash up on Japanese shores with dead crews, called “ghosts ships” by local media.
