The vessel arrived in the Philippines on July 7, 2023 and stopped in the port of the capital for 5 days until July 11 as part of a 5-month campaign in the Indo-Pacific Area.Morosini's stop coincided with the visit of representatives of the Italian Navy and Ministry of Defense and of major Italian defense companies, namely Elettronica, Fincantieri and Leonardo.
The 144-meter long vessel had a high operational flexibility and was designed with specific and enhanced dual use characteristics that allowed it to perform both military tasks such as including patrol, logistic transport and surface combat as well as civil protection activities such as first aid delivery and fresh water provision. According to the Morosini's Commanding Officer, Giovanni Monno, the ship could provide fresh water for about 6000 people.
