The Transportation department has officially awarded the contract to build a new international airport in Bulacan to San Miguel Holdings Corporation .
San Miguel President and Chief Operating Officer Ramon Ang put forward the new airport proposal back in 2016. It will be built on a 2,500 hectare property in Bulakan town, around 30 kilometers northeast of Metro Manila.The DOTr earlier said that it wants construction to start before the year ends, as it gave four to six years for the winning bidder to complete the four-runway airport.
