Isuzu highlights its carbon-neutral future for people carriers with the Erga EV bus concept
Isuzu is out to prove that it can make the shift towards zero emissions mobility while also setting a goal of achieving carbon neutrality in the coming years. Aside from showing the Giga Fuel Cell heavy-duty EV truck at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show, Isuzu Motors Limited has also displayed the all-electric Erga Bus EV concept.
Thanks to its flat-floor design, Isuzu claims all of the seats are accessible without steps, making movement within the bus completely barrier-free. In addition, the electric powertrain ensures smoother acceleration & deceleration, and lower vibration & noise levels to maximize passenger comfort. Speaking of passengers, the Erga EV concept can accommodate a total of 80 passengers - 21 seated, 58 standing, and the bus driver.
The Erga EV’s estimated range is not yet available as Isuzu is still conducting real-world tests. However, they did say that the prototype version has a rapid charging system courtesy via CHAdeMO.
