MAYBE it's just this writer, but one sees contradiction between foreign and defense policy pronouncements of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in recent months and media statements just last Friday by Undersecretary Maria Theresa Lazaro of the Department of Foreign Affairs .

Plus: At last week's World Economic Forum in Davos, the Chief Executive said the Philippines and its fellow members in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and the Asia Pacific Cooperation Forum do not wish to see another 'Cold War' in the region, referring to the decades of global superpower rivalry between the US and the Soviet Union, predecessor state of the Russian Federation.
