THE Philippines has successfully maintained its position on the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) “White List,” confirming the country’s commitment to high standards in maritime education, training, and certification for mariners. In a statement, the Maritime Industry Authority (Marina) Administrator Sonia B.

THE Philippines has successfully maintained its position on the International Maritime Organization’s “White List,” confirming the country’s commitment to high standards in maritime education, training, and certification for mariners.

“Our inclusion on this list displays our unwavering commitment not only to comply with the requirements of the STCW Convention but also to continuously improve our system,” she said. In 2022, the Philippines underwent an independent evaluation to assess its compliance with the STCW Convention. Following this, the country submitted comprehensive information on measures taken to align with regulation I/8 paragraph 3 of the 1978 STCW Convention.
