Immigration chief blasts personnel tagged in 'pastillas' scheme

MANILA — Bureau of Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente on Saturday blasted officials and other personnel of his agency accused of facilitating the "pastillas" scheme, where illegal Chinese workers allegedly enter the Philippines by paying grease money.

Among those allegedly able to enter the country through payoffs were Chinese nationals already in the immigration blacklist. Personnel tagged in the "pastillas" modus have all been placed "in the administrative holding office" as the investigation continues, according the the commissioner.

He knows whats going on, he may not have a hand on it, but he surely didnt do anything to stop it

Para ba naman bago lang yan na nangyayari sa mga ahensya ng gobyerno. At this point, sa kung gaano kalala na ang problema, you should feel disgusted.

Either kasama sya or incompetent. Pili na lang sya.

If you were serious you should have fired everyone when you got appointed.

Disappointed? Imagine how the taxpayers feel about this. We are angry. If you're not aware that this is going on, maybe you should take the time to get out of your office and look at how your people work. So you won't look like an incompetent fool.

You can only teach and lead other people to do the right thing pero sila pa rin ang pipili at magdedesisyon kung gagamitin nila ang mga tinuro mo at kung susunod ba sila sa daang tinatahak mo.
