The government’s pandemic task force has decided to place more areas under Alert Level 1 — the least strict among all alert level classifications — despite the threat of a surge in Covid-19 cases after the elections, Malacañang said on May 2.

President Duterte meets key members of the Inter-agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases on April 11, 2022. Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said in a statement that the Inter-agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases approved the recommendations of the sub-Technical Working Group for Data Analytics to place Nueva Vizcaya and Misamis Occidental under Alert Level 1 from May 3 to 15, 2022.Region VII: Talisay City, CebuOn April 29, the IATF decided to keep Metro Manila and many other areas under Alert Level 1 from May 1 to 15, 2022.

Meanwhile, 44 provinces, highly urbanized cities , and independent component cities are under Alert Level 2.
