House leaders eye speedy passage of 2021 nat’l budget

House leaders said Friday that speed would still be a top consideration in budget deliberations this year, which would cover the proposed national budget for 2021 amounting to P4.5 trillion.

It marked the first General Appropriations Bill passed under Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano and the earliest passage of the GAB on the House level during the Duterte administration. “I think that we will be able to approve it in the soonest time possible and maybe earlier than last year because of the pressing needs brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic,” Pimentel said.
