Leaders of the House of Representatives vowed yesterday to shepherd the passage of economic bills that would further boost the country’s economic growth, even as they hailed President Duterte’s “sound” economic policy.House Majority Leader and Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez said they would flex their muscles to ensure the country’s continued economic takeoff.

He even attributed the 6.2-percent gross domestic product growth to the President’s sound economic policy. Deputy Speaker and Batangas Rep. Raneo Abu, for his part, expressed the Lower Chamber’s commitment to institutionalize reforms “that will encourage the influx of more investments, the creation of more jobs, improvement in human capital investment, and the building of better infrastructure.”

Deputy Speaker and 1-Pacman party-list Rep. Mikee Romero also assured that they would pass more laws that would improve the business climate in the country.
