House inquiry on poor Internet service gains support

ACT-CIS Party-List Rep. Rowena “Niña” Taduran backed the proposed inquiry Sunday, saying it’s a “great injustice” for consumers to suffer from very poor service despite conscientious payment of their bills.

“Even President Duterte said that these telcos no longer have a reason for their failure to develop their infrastructure with the passage of Bayanihan to Heal As One Act 2, which speeds up the application process for the necessary permits,” she said. Earlier this month, Bagong Henerasyon Party-List Rep. Bernadette Herrera filed House Resolution No.1193, which prods the House to probe telcos and ISPs for their poor service, in aid of legislation. The Philippines has become a punchline for its snail-paced Internet connection, despite having some of the higher rates in the region.

lizasoberano Thank you Liza Soberano for bringing this up.

lizasoberano I wasn't able to follow the news on this, I hope the congress get serious about this issue, cause thousands of consumer are already taken for granted by these ISP. Cause they think it is well with the LAW and nobody will pursue them.

lizasoberano Where was GabrielaWomenPL when you need them. They could have crafted a law to protect inmates with child in jail or prisons by lengthening nursing time or bonding time. With all the funds they get, they weren't able to protect babyriver? Rally pa more! AskingForAFriend

lizasoberano Action pls! For an ordinary citizen, a PLDT subscriber without delinquent, unpaid bills, repair ticket remains unresolved since Sept 26 up to present. No internet connection to unstable, fluctuating internet ... Action, action pls legislators!

Grabeeee kayo PLDT, no awa.

lizasoberano Long overdue inquiry, bt ok at least they’re looking into it now,we hope it’s not just for publicity. Not only we Pinoys are aware of how SUCK our iNet service is but including foreigners who have visited PI.These Telcos have enjoyed so much becoz of lack of market competition

lizasoberano Yung mga nag comment ng 'buti Naman.' really? Saan planeta ba kayo? Dalawin ko kayo dyan.. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Liza-to this

Buti naman. It's about time na pabilisin nila ang internet tayo nalang ang nahuhuli.

I hope they don't take this as free publicity for those running this coming 2022. It's time the House scrutinizes the poor internet service the ISPs are milking millions out of gullible subscribers.

wew akala ko ba iinvite nyo si Liza jan 😆

lizasoberano Buti naman. ❤❤
