Hindi ‘death sentence’ ang OMICRON VARIANT!

Nakakatakot talaga ang biglaang pagdami ng mga bagong COVID-19 cases. Mula 889 noong December 29 at lumipas ang walong araw, aba’y biglang 17,220 na kahapon at may partida pang 11 laboratoryo na wala pang resulta.

Ibang-iba ito nang dumaan sa kanila ang DELTA at mga naunang ALPHA at BETA variants na magkakasabay na tumaas ang “new cases’, hospitalization, at nasasawi.Katatapos lamang DELTA variant noong July-September kung saan napakaraming naospital at namatay. Pagkatapos ay biglang bumagsak ito na parang bato at at halos ZERO ang infection rate. Sabi nga ni Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr.

Siyempre, antigen at RT-PCR ang katapat niyan, at sa mga mahihirap na pamilya, hindi nila makakayanan iyan. Marami riyan ay gamot sa lagnat o trangkaso ang hahanapin. Kaya nga pila ngayon sa paracetamol sa mga botika, at tulad ng inaasahan, kulang na naman sa suplay at siguradong taas presyo na naman.

At di tulad ng naunang mga COVID-19 variants noon kung saan kabi-kabilang eksperimento ang gamutan na ikinamatay ng marami, iba at mas maganda ang sitwasyon ngayon. Kaya naman, mahalaga sa ating lahat ang mga susunod na araw. Haharapin ba nating mga Pilipino ang OMICRON na punung-puno ng takot o haharapin ito ng buong tapang at gising sa kaalaman?
