The Office for Transportation Security (OTS) had conducted an inspection of seven international and 20 domestic airports, five international and 10 domestic ports; 13 bus terminals in the National Capital Region; and various train stations of the Philippine National Railways (PNR), Metro Rail Transit (MRT) and Light Rail Transit (LRT) on their compliance with enhanced security measures during the holiday season.

OTS Administrator Raul L. Del Rosario said there is an enhanced screening of passengers and luggage, strict access control augmented by the Armed Forces of the Philippines and Philippine National Police personnel, visibility of K9 units and security patrols, and effective use of security screening technologies such as Explosive Trace Detectors and monitoring using Close Circuit Television cameras in airports.

For the maritime sector, enhanced security screening of passengers and baggage were likewise noted with random baggage inspection conducted using Philippine Coast Guard K9 units. Strict access control is noticeable with the visibility of AFP/PNP personnel. In coordination with PNR, LRT, and MRT authorities, the implementation of security in these transport facilities was enhanced by augmentation from PNP personnel and roving K9 units.
