A GOVERNMENT official appealed for understanding Saturday, July 25, after photos showing locally stranded individuals not observing social distancing while housed at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex went viral on social media.
"Napuno po yung baseball field ng Rizal...Nung mga nakaraang araw, lahat po sila ay nasa kalsada. Inulan ng buong gabi, nabilad sa init...Sana maunawaan po ng publiko na ang ginawa po ng Hatid Tulong ay isang collective decision para mabigyan lang sila ng maayos na lugar habang sila ay nag-aantay," Encabo said.
Encabo said the LSIs from Northern Mindanao, specifically Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur and Butuan City were dispatched early morning of Saturday, July 25, while at 1 p.m., those from Davao and Soccsksargen will also leave Manila. "Sana po ay maintindihan ng publiko na ang gawain po ng ating gobyerno ay tulungan po ang mga vulnerable... Ginagawa po namin ang lahat ng aming makakaya na sundin ang mga patakaran ng IATF guidelines. Sa isyu po ng social distancing, kami po ay humihingi ng pang-unawa dahil hindi po namin kaya na sila ay makitang nauulanan sa labas," Encado said.
