'Habagat' to bring more rains in Luzon, Visayas until weekend

In a 5 a.m. update, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said monsoon rains will pour over Metro Manila, Zambales, Cavite, Batangas and Bataan, Mindoro provinces.

Thunderstorms, cloudy skies and scattered rains will be experienced over Western Visayas, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region and Cagayan Valley, the rest of MIMAROPA and Central Luzon, PAGASA said. The weather agency said it is monitoring low pressure areas , one of which is enhancing the southwest monsoon. It was last seen 130 kilometers west southwest of Iba, Zambales. The trough of the other LPA, last spotted 715 km east of Basco, Batanes, is also affecting weather conditions in Luzon and Visayas.

Meno Mendoza, PAGASA weather specialist said over CNN Philippines' New Day that improved weather conditions may be expected in the coming weeks.
