The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) on Friday reminded its inactive members who left the government service with unsettled loans that the availment to waive penalties is set to close on June 30.

At the Laging Handa public briefing, GSIS Vismin Operations Group officer-in-charge Vice President Deity Manampan said interested persons should submit an accomplished form and two valid IDs.

“So this is your chance now, we are waiving the penalties and surcharges pero kailangan ninyo pong mag-apply officially sa GSIS ,” he said. The Program for Restructuring and Repayment of Debts is a one-time loan condonation and restructuring program for inactive GSIS members with outstanding debts, according to the GSIS.

GSIS members who are already out of government service and financially incapable to settle their outstanding loan balances in full may apply for PRRD, it added. Applicants may log on to the GSIS website at www.gsis.gov.ph, visit any GSIS branches, or write to GSIS email at gsiscares@gsis.gov.ph or more information.
