MANILA - Grab Philippines on Wednesday said its country head Brian Cu tested negative from the coronavirus disease 2019 .

"We can confirm that Brian Cu is well and is negative for COVID-19," a Grab Philippines representative told reporters.

The ride-hailing firm also confirmed that one employee from its corporate office in Singapore tested positive for the disease last March 7. "Grab confirms that one employee from our corporate office in Singapore tested positive for COVID-19 on 7 March. As of 11 March 2020, we can confirm that no employees in the Philippines tested positive for COVID-19," Grab Philippines said.

The Philippines has 49 COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday afternoon, out of the more than 110,000 confirmed cases worldwide.
