Barangay Ginebra San Miguel governor Alfrancis Chua said that management is waiting for the official decision from FIBA on the status of Justin Brownlee after the naturalized Gilas Pilipinas player and Kings import was found positive of a banned substance following the Asian Games.

According to Chua, while the team is waiting for a formal decision from the world governing body for basketball, which is FIBA, they are also looking for Brownlee's possible replacement as the PBA Season 48 is set to open on Nov. 5 with the Commissioner's Cup.'The way I look at things is always advance... just in case, hindi natin alam kung ano ang decision,' said Chua during the PBA press conference on Tuesday, October 17 at the Diamond Hotel in Manila.

For him personally, the former Ginebra mentor said he would not ask for the Sample B to open since it's the same urine sample. However, the decision to appeal or not, which Brownlee has together with the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas on October 19, is up to the player and the federation. The federation, led by its president Al Panlilio, is in talks with Brownlee on their next move.
