Senator Sherwin Gatchalian on Tuesday, July 5 said he will seek a Senate inquiry into the power supply problems in Occidental Mindoro plaguing the province for several years now.

Gatchalian made the promise even as he noted that the province’s power supply has been restored after it was hit by a three-day blackout that started last June 25.

“The locals are complaining to me. It’s time we get to the bottom of the recurring power problem in the province,” he stressed. Reports said that the Occidental Mindoro Consolidated Power Corp. stopped supplying electricity to Occidental Mindoro Electric Cooperative Inc. last June 25 after its power supply agreement to the electric cooperative expired.
