Senator Sherwin Gatchalian on Saturday, April 17, expressed hope that the inclusion of education personnel in the government’s vaccination priority list would pave the way for the resumption of face-to-face classes in the country.

“I thank and commend the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases for heeding the call to move basic education frontliners higher in the COVID-19 vaccine prioritization list,” he added. Several senators had expressed their concern over the effects of the prolonged closure of schools to the learning and quality of Filipino students.

“The sooner we get the vaccines in the arms of our teachers and non-teaching staff, the sooner we can restore normalcy in the lives of our learners and start the recovery of our basic education sector,” Gatchalian said.
