Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian says the ₱18 billion budget allotted by the Senate for COVID-19 vaccines in 2021 is only meant for their purchase and does not include logistical concerns like establishing cold storage facilities for the vaccines.

The increased budget for COVID-19 vaccines for 2021 is solely for their procurement, a senator said on Wednesday.

"Because we have experience in distributing different vaccines, from polio to dengue, we have the infrastructure ready in place. Although I have to admit this COVID-19 vaccine might be different in terms of requirements," Gatchalian told CNN Philippines' Rico Hizon. "We have to vaccinate everyone as quick as possible," he said."The economy is taking a hit because not everyone can go to work and we're not producing at a full capacity because people are afraid to go out."

Where are we planning to put PHP18BB worth of vaccines?

I think it was sen pia cayetano ang naka diskubre sa kakulangan sa storage ng covid, at hindi si sen gatchalian.
