Former health secretary and now Iloilo first district Rep. Janette Loreto-Garin has urged the government

“to rethink and assess” its strategy to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease-2019 in the country.

On Friday, the Department of Health reported two new cases of COVID-19 in the country: a 62-year old man from San Juan who has hypertension and diabetes and with no travel history, and a 48-year old lawyer who recently traveled to Japan. Garin said the discrimination among suspected COVID-19 patients should be stopped, saying that it “discourages patients to seek medical attention.”
