— Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia is considering extending the ban on the entry of live hogs, pork meat and other by-products coming from Luzon beyond June 2020.Garcia said there may be a need to prolong the ban after she received reports that African swine fever virus had reached from Quezon City to Bataan and other areas in Luzon.

It was last August of last year when Garcia issued Executive 14 that prohibits the entry of live hogs, pork-related products and pork by-products into the province without permits or certificates for 100 days. Another EU issued last December 17 imposed a total ban on pork and pork-related products from the six provinces of Eastern Visayas.
