The government is so far

“winning” the battle to contain the coronavirus disease and manage the pandemic in the country, a government official from the national response team declared on Friday night .Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr.

He said that in March and April, the cases had a “positivity rate” of 13 percent, but this has since gone down to 8 percent this month. He said the NCR, with a population of 16.5 million, has so far recorded 842 deaths. Meanwhile, New York City with a population of 19.54 million has 61,886 recorded deaths, while the Lombardy Region, home to 10.06 million people, has 32,330 recorded deaths. There was also a notable increase in the number of accredited testing laboratories, according to Galvez.

As of May 20, there are also 1,500 identified referral and treatment hospitals nationwide, far from the initial four referral hospitals in March.
