Several vials of anti-coronavirus disease vaccines from China’s Sinovac Biotech will no longer be used after being spoiled or found to be empty, Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. confirmed Tuesday, March 16.
“Sa ngayon po very minimal ang vaccine wastage. Nakikita po natin ‘yung vaccine wastage na nareport sa Sinovac may isang parang nabasag lang na package and also walang laman ‘yung isa. ‘Yun lang ang nakita nating wastage ,” Galvez said at a virtual press briefing. “Sa AstraZeneca, wala pa silang nare-report kasi yung nareport na isang vial nakakakuha sila ng 10 doses pero may nakukuha rin silang 11 doses. Meron din silang report na may nine doses ,” he said.
The government is prioritizing the inoculation of 1.7 million healthcare workers in the country until next month.
