THE Department of Health on Tuesday, June 23, 2020, reported 789 fresh cases and 361 late cases of coronavirus infections, bringing the total case count in the country to almost 32,000.
The number of additional fresh cases is the highest since the DOH distinguished between fresh and late cases on May 29. Fresh cases refer to test results that were released in the last three days while late cases refer to those that were released at least four days ago. The total number of additional infections as of 4 p.m. Tuesday was 1,150. This increased the Philippines’ case count to 31,825.
The DOH also reported 299 additional recoveries, bringing the total number of patients who have recovered from coronavirus disease 2019 to 8,442.Among the fresh cases, 288 were from Central Visayas, 207 from the National Capital Region and 294 from other regions.
