PRESIDENT Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has appointed former Department of the Interior and Local Government secretary Eduardo Año as the new national security adviser .Año took his oath of office before Marcos on Saturday, January 14, 2023, replacing Prof. Clarita Carlos, said the Presidential Communications Office .

Año’s appointment came as Carlos “has decided to continue her pursuit of scholastic endeavors as she joins the Congressional Policy and Budget Research Department of the House of Representatives,” said the PCO.
