According to a "24 Oras" report by Claire Lacanilao, the rains came despite the ongoing El Niño phenomenon.At least 14 parked cars were buried in a seven-foot flood at City Camp Lagoon, Barangay Lower Rock Quarry, Baguio City.The flood was reportedly caused by garbage that blocked the drainage canals.Residents have begun cleaning efforts on Thursday morning.
“Nililinis ‘yung sasakyan, ‘yung makina sakaling maisalba pa kasi totally submerged ito,” said car owner Danny Cariño.The local government has begun unclogging the drainage. No residents were reported injured due to the flood.In San Luis, Aurora province, residents carried rental picnic huts to higher ground after the downpour that caused the flood.In Ilagan, Isabela the Abuan River overflowed due to heavy rains. One car was submerged in the floodwaters, but was recovered by residents.
